Ballater Holiday Cottages offer the ideal base to explore Royal Deeside. From the magnificent Cairngorm mountains to the stunning rural scenery of the Dee Valley, come and sample the best of Scotland. Ballater is a pretty little village, proud of its Royal connections. Close to Balmoral Castle and Birkhall, home of Prince Charles, it has a wide range of shops many of which display Royal Warrants.

The old Royal Station has seen many royal visitors, including the Czar of Russia and the Shah of Persia, but is now restored and converted to a visitor centre with recreations of Queen Victoria's waiting rooms and an excellent video show about the area.

The village is centred around a picturesque green, where pipe bands play regularly throughout the summer. As well as shopping at the Royal butcher and baker, you can browse in the many excellent shops for antiques, books, country clothing, interior design and gifts.

If all this sounds like hard work, why not stop and take time to relax and watch the world go by in one of the many restaurants and cafes.

Golfers can choose from many excellent courses nearby, there is plenty of good quality fishing with permits available in local shops, and pony-trekking and gliding nearby. The Victorian Heritage, Whisky and Castle trails add an extra dimension when touring by car.

Self-Catering Cottages in Ballater

A traditional, granite house close to the centre of the village. Renovated to a high standard, it offers a pleasing combination of comfort and character. On the ground floor there is a cosy lounge with an open fire, a spacious dining-kitchen, twin bedroom and shower room and upstairs a twin bedroom, double bedroom and bathroom.

There is a pretty, cottage-style flower garden in front and a fully enclosed, private garden with lawn and seating area to the rear. The house is freshly decorated throughout and has oil central heating. More information...
